A good thought because we all want to change our lives for the better, don’t we? Theoretically yes but in real life can we be bothered?
Do YOU really want to know how to start changing your life today? Are you prepared to put in some effort to start the changes?

How do I know?
I continue to do and have done a lot of courses and have read many books, blogs, articles etc, over the years. When you continue on in personal development much of the information gets discarded and the rest kind of melds together so you often can’t recall what particular habits came from where.
Why? Because we are all different. What works for you doesn’t work for me and vice versa, the same goes for the ideas that resonate with me, may or may not do so for you.
Does that make sense? We all know someone who reads a book, raves about the way it changed their life but when you get it, you can’t see what all the fuss was about. Works that way with courses too.
What are the main things that stayed?
So many things! Learning about energy fields and vibration, intuition, the Law of Attraction, the Law of Abundance, Magic & Flow, Motivation & Purpose and Limiting Beliefs. About awakening and intuition too.
It made a lot of sense learning the way our thoughts create our world, that the choices we make construct our future. That even not making a choice is a choice that affects your life.
I learned that Gratitude is unbelievably important, so much more than people realise. To me, gratitude is the basis of all change. Gratitude brings so much more into our lives. It seems that the more grateful we are the more we have to be grateful for. It makes us happier too, which also makes us kinder and more compassionate.
When I started out on this path, many people thought it was weird and ‘new agey’, they were probably the kinder names used. Now though we know so much more and much of it comes under the umbrella of personal development.
There is much ‘self help’ available for the journey through life as well as blogs, books, workshops and courses
Why do you want to change your life? What do you want to change the most and how much work are you prepared to do to improve your life?
Better job or any job?
You want to work for yourself?
More money/regular money coming in?
More food on the table/better food?
A holiday or more holidays?
There are many reasons why people want to change their lives and so many who want to change certain aspects of their lives.
Why doesn’t everyone do it?
Honestly? Most people can’t be bothered to put in the consistent effort to get to their best life. We live in an age of instant gratification, which means that if we don’t get noticeable results fast, then we lose interest.
Too many people try things short term. They get the course or book, get started, rave about it for a couple of weeks, start to see a few small gains and then give up. Any gains are dismissed as coincidence and what started with high hopes becomes “a con”. Then they move on to the next big thing. The same steps are rinsed and repeated for years.
Have you done that? All is not lost! The fact that you are here, still looking means that you do want to make changes.
Do you think it would be worth a few months or even several months of your life to end up with the life you want to live? Do you daydream about living the way you feel you deserve? Having everything you ever wanted. Being able to go on holiday at a moments notice, wherever you fancy.
Having work and a lifestyle that you really love is most people’s dream.
Rather than you wake up in the morning and dread going to work for a basic wage that barely covers expenses. Where money is always a worry and you dread the kids growing because it means spending money you don’t have for clothes. A life where you always come last in clothes, shoes and haircuts. Where leisure is sitting down for 5 minutes because you are exhausted.
What can you do?
If time is short and your day is long, take small steps. Get yourself a journal or any notebook will do, even several sheets of paper stapled together.
That wasn’t so hard was it, or time consuming?
Start with gratitude! Very simple and easy. When you first wake up, think of a few things you are grateful for. Make a short list in your head or on paper, whichever you prefer.
Can’t think of anything or perhaps thinking you haven’t got anything to be grateful for as you struggle through the daily grind?
You woke up! That’s a plus.
You have a bed to sleep in, internet access because you are reading this. Heat and light, food in your cupboard, clothes and shoes to wear?
Family that you love, friends you like/love.
There’s a few to start you off.
Once you have got into the habit of making a short list in the morning. As I said it can be in your head or on paper. You can even do it in the shower.
Then you move to the next step.
Each night before you go to sleep, think of the good things that happened in the day that you are grateful for. A smile, a kind word, a joke that made you laugh. A hug from a loved one. Anything that made you feel good, feel gratitude for those things.
I find it makes me sleep better and drift off much faster. I awake feeling more refreshed too.
Instead of stewing over bad events from the day you enjoy the good parts instead and drift off to sleep with a smile.
Is that it?
Yes, that is it for now.
I think you will find life gets a little easier and you will be happier. The more grateful you are the better life becomes.
Get an Attitude of Gratitude as I like to call it and it’s like a signal that goes out to the universe saying, ‘More Good Things required HERE!’
Once you get into that habit, life will get better. Remember it doesn’t mean you have to make a big list. Just a few things each time, keep it manageable.
Though over time you will find yourself feeling gratitude during the day too as you draw more good things, events and people to you.
Can YOU do it? Can YOU Start Changing your Life Today?
I think you can. Just do your best to keep it going. Yes, you will probably forget occasionally but bring yourself back to it until it is a habit that you do without thinking.
After all, that is how habits are formed, then after about 3 weeks, it becomes something that we do without conscious thought.
